Amateur photographer + cheap cameras = ???

Unexpected shot while driving around D.C.
Grocery shopping at the local vegetable store.
NYC Blizzard 2004. My Jillian loved the little mountains of snow.

Late afternoon on 34th Street. Courtesy of my Sony Ericsson W810i.

One of those times that you really have to "lower yourself" down to get the best shot.
(Gateway Arch, St. Louis, Missouri)While visiting Arlington Cemetery,
I told my friend: "Hold it right there!", then I clicked!

I'm proud of this one even though it was only taken by a Pentax Optio. (",)

A shot from my phone camera Sony Ericsson W810i.
After the rain.

A bug's life.

Perfectly beautiful sunny day. Very ironic isn't it?

Night beauties.

I always wonder about "those photos" especially flowers: "How on earth did they take that flower showing nothing but 'it' with the blue sky on the background?" Then Spring 2007, I picked a daffodil from our garden, raised it above me and voila! I quickly got my camera and I found the answer to my question.

Nothing really, just a skeleton tree from a state park across our house.

One sunny morning.

Well, they look good together, had to take a shot.

New Blog

New site. New blog. Let's start, shall we?

Someone really inspired me recently to give it a thought of improving my 'hobby': Photography. My Chinese great-grandfather started it all. He introduced photography to a small town in Cebu, Philippines. Eventually, his son, my grandfather became the town photographer. His brother did it too. And my uncles as well followed their footsteps. So you see, it's in my blood. I knew even from childhood that I love pictures: posing & taking. With varieties of film and compact cameras, I would take shots here and there. I've been longing to buy an SLR for quite some time now but never really fully decided. One of the reasons is I would think that if I buy now, few months after, there would be a nicer one on the market. I came across on an expert that advises anything about SLR, from the kind of cameras you should have (or need), the best SLR up to date, to realizing what kind of a photographer you really are. Such great advices, I learned a lot! I think I'm an all-around photographer. LOLx. Well, i love portraits, landscapes, speed, macro and other types, whatever you call 'em. I have an idea what to get already but still, the frontal lobe of my brain is still deciding. But thank YOU whoever YOU are that newly inspired me.
